Nearly 5,000 Turn Out For Neal Boortz' Happy Ending

Among the honored guests included Sean Hannity, Clark Howard, Jeff Foxworthy plus various TV and local personalities. “I don’t know why Neal is retiring,” Foxworthy said. “He sits in his house drinking coffee and talking on the phone for four hours every morning. Shock Jock Radio Exposed: Todd Schnitt And Bubba The Love Sponge Go At It In Court

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 14TH, 2013 –– Looks like the shock jock radio is about to be exposed in a way unlike never before as Todd Schnitt's lawsuit against market rival, Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, finally gets its day in court. The defamation suit brought by Todd "MJ" Schnitt against Clem back in 2008 is 38 volumes long and weighs hundreds of pounds according to tampabay.com Schnitt accused Clem of "false, highly offensive and defamatory statements" about him and his wife, Michelle. "If I lose this," Clem said in an interview Friday, "it's going to be very disturbing for people who do what we do." In depositions, Clem has already admitted that most of his accusations against his rival weren't true, and Schnitt has admitted that parts of his own broadcasts were faked, including some of his signature "crotchety calls," where he pretended to be an old man calling businesses with oddball questions. Among the witness lists includes Merlin Media's Randy Michaels, plus various local radio characters and personalities. Jay O'Connor, a former top executive for Cox in the Tampa who hired Clem, said "Bubba is a master of hyperbole." he said. Schnitt's lawsuit counter this by saying Clem went beyond hyperbole by accusing Schnitt of illegal acts — such as rigging Arbitron ratings and fixing radio contests and engaging in "plugola," the banned practice of plugging businesses in exchange for favors or gifts. Clem predicted Schnitt would be indicted on federal racketeering charges.

The station confirmed in a release 7yesterday that Wilcomes was “released” from his “employment contract” effective immediately. The interview took place last month just before the holidays.
