In its Complaint, 'Plaintiff Radio One, Inc. presents claims for relief of trademark infringement, false designation of origin, deceptive acts and practices, and unfair competition against Defendant Flinn Broadcasting Corporation.' Boom, which is actually registered to CBS, assigned the name to Radio One which launched it Boom format in Houston on October 8th, 2014. KANYE WEST: 'Of Course I Want To Be On The Radio'

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 23RD, 2015 –– Appearing before a gathering at the iHeartMedia Music Summit at Burbank, CA's iHeartRadio Theatre, Kanye West walked out with his laptop, picked up the mic - then, according to billboard.com, put it down and proceeded to speak for around 45 minutes without a mic. Since he was speaking before a number of programmers, he circled back to a statement he made onstage at the Governors Ball in 2013: that he didn't want to be on the radio. "I was joking!" he laughed. "Of course I want to be on the radio!" In his speech, which Billboard describes as a bit stream-of-consciousness, he spoke at length about how he'd brought unlikely songs and topics to urban radio with "Jesus Walks" and "Through the Wire" from his first album, and then later in his career discovered Daft Punk and EDM and brought those influences into his music with "Stronger" and again with 808s and Heartbreak and how he hears that album's influence on a lot of urban radio today, even though it wasn't his biggest-selling album. "This little talk I'm giving is going good so far," he said at one point, "so I have to risk being Kanye." He also talked about working with Paul McCartney on "Only One." He also brought up 'what a sexy song the Beatles' "Come Together" is, and how he was in complete disbelief when Paul stood across from him and played the bassline. PHOTO/Def Jam

[LISTEN] Gloria Allred Talks Cosby Case With WMJI-FM/Cleveland

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 23RD, 2015 –– With an assist from Envision Networks® Guest Services, attorney Gloria Allred spoke yesterday with The Majic Morning Show on WMJI/Cleveland (Nolan, Malone & Kullik )about (s)exual abuse allegations made against Bill 7Cosby. Allred is currently representing eight of the women who have come forward with allegations against Cosby. Many have questioned why it took so long for the alleged victims to come forward. Allred said that Cosby’s status as a celebrity kept the women from going public sooner because they were intimidated and feared backlash against them.“Some of them were in fear that they would not be believed … They were afraid also that they would be attacked because he has a lot of money and he can pay his, what I call his ‘paid attack dogs,’ to attack them and in fact that fear that they would be attacked has become a reality when they finally did come out,” Allred said. She went on to say that some of the alleged victims told family and friends about their accusations at the time, but never made them public with a lawsuit or by going to the police. Due to the statute of limitations, the alleged victims haven’t been able to file a lawsuit against Cosby since bringing their allegations to the public. Allred also revealed that in addition to the women she is currently representing, there are more who have contacted her but have not yet made their accusations public. She continued that some of them would do so in the future. “We haven’t heard the last of this. This is a very, very serious situation and whether or not they can sue, they can still tell what their story is in the court of public opinion and everybody can judge for themselves,” Allred said. DAN RATHER: The Most Dangerous Time For Journalists In The History Of The Profession

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 23RD, 2015 –– Legendary Journalist Dan Rather spoke with Florida Live host Dan Maduri on how news media has changed over the years. When asked by Maduri if it's more dangerous to be a journalist today compared to when he was reporting abroad, Rather said: "The short answer is, yes. This is by any reasonable analysis, the most dangerous time for journalists in the history of the profession. There's always been an element of danger in things such as covering war zones, hurricanes, natural disasters, but given the situation of the world today, I think it is unquestionable it's the most dangerous time for journalists ever." Of course, back in Rather's heyday, he was well-known for taking on dangerous interviews. Did he ever get nervous, Maduri asked: "Sure. For example if you walk into Baghdad Palace as I did during Gulf War I for my first interview with Saddam Hussein, walked into the palace alone and meet Saddam Hussein three tiers underground, and you're there by yourself alone, are you gonna get nervous? You bet." Maduri asked, 'Did you ever find yourself with a certain admiration towards some of these people you were interviewing even though they had been deemed some of the most despicable people on earth? "No. When we were among the most despicable people on earth, I didn't have any thoughts about admiration. With Saddam Hussein, listen, no one could be in the room with him for any length of time at all and not conclude that here you had a stone cold killer. And what's Rather's take on today's news vs. keeping up with The Kardashians?" LISTEN TO INTERVIEW HERE

Geraldo Rivera Gets Double Love On New York Billboard

7

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 23RD, 2015 –– When you're the star of a popular TV series as well as a midday host on Cumulus' 77 WABC New York, it made good sense to make the most out of the situation. As you'll see from the large billboard, there, bigger than life, is Geraldo Rivera sandwiched between the logos of both NBC's Celebrity Apprentice and 77 WABC Radio. - Our only question is who paid for the billboard? Regardless of who paid, it's a win-win for both shows. BTW, Geraldo does regular 'Apprentice' updates on his radio show. PHOTO/Courtesy of Mike McVay

According to thedailynews.com, It was 1979 when Dees landed in Los Angeles, first at KHJ (930 AM) and then hired away by then head of programming, Don Benson (R) at KIIS-FM where he remained for over a quarter century. Dees defined morning radio in Los Angeles At KIIS-FM where he was teamed with Wally Clark, programmer Gerry DeFrancisco, and a cast that included Liz Fulton, plus fellow on-air hosts such as Big Ron O’Brien, Paul Freeman and Bruce Vidal among others. Accord in to the report:, those ratings records still stand: No FM station in Los Angeles has earned the ratings KIIS-FM had in the early to mid-1980s; only the AM stations of the 1960s and ’70s commanded a higher rating than KIIS’ 10-plus shares in the Arbitron ratings, and that was before the popularity, and extra competition, of FM.

Are Serials Bringing Back 'Intrigue' To The Radio Experience

Audio journalism is a satisfying form for such tales: intimate voices, sound artistry, provocative questions phrased casually - Sharon Larson

7THE MOUTH, JANUARY 22ND, 2015 –– While the media is still buzzing over the popularity of NPR's 'Serial,' perhaps a bigger story is the growing intrigue of storytelling on the radio medium. Now there's 'Invisibilia', starring Alix Spiegel and Lulu Miller (shown) a new NPR show about the unseen forces that shape human behavior, thoughts, emotions, assumptions and ideas. The New Yorker writes, “Invisibilia,” like “Serial” before it, has been the No. 1 podcast on iTunes for most of its existence, adding, “Invisibilia” sounds like a cross between “This American Life and “Radiolab,” and hints of the elaborate sound design and chatty “Cosmos”-meets-“Car Talk” vibe of “Radiolab.” Writer Sharon Larson says “Invisibilia” combines sophisticated storytelling with cultural and scientific reporting, yielding astonishing stories that can feel almost too good to be true. Audio journalism is a satisfying form for such tales: intimate voices, sound artistry, provocative questions phrased casually. Larson adds, 'Emotion, that wonderful and nefarious invisible force, is a powerful part of entertaining journalism of the NPR variety. And it’s tied to our love of both storytelling and neuroscience. We want answers and advice; we want things to make sense. On “Invisibilia,” they often do. READ ENTIRE ARTICLE HERE - PHOTO/John Poole/NPR

Chris managed to get to work in time to be on the air in time for just after the 7am news where he sung along with his jingle and made no mention of his late arrival, but did say the show was dedicated to anyone who missed the first half hour. He said it was “probably the best, the very best since we started our five and a half year run. Seriously, catch up with it on iPlayer. It was off the chart.” He did however say 7thank you to “Lady Vanessa”, who would have made her way to her next show on BBC London 94.9 a little later than normal.
