Of note, Sajak's entrance into radio began when he won a contest on WLS radio's Dick Biondi Show to be a guest teen deejay. This was while he was a student at Columbia College in Chicago. According to wikipedia, his nstructor Al Parker told him that a local radio station (WEDC) was looking for a newsman. Sajak applied for the job and was hired to work from midnight to 6:00 AM. In 1968, Sajak joined the U.S. Army, and was sent to Vietnam, where he served as a disk jockey on Armed Forces Radio. During his stint, Sajak admitted to once botching President Nixon's 1969 Christmas broadcast to the troops; he accidentally cut the feed off prematurely. LISTEN TO AUDIO HERE

[LISTEN] Gregg Giannotti Begins National Gig For CBS Sports Radio

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 5TH, 2015 –– Gregg Giannotti does unbelievable impressions. Even of his fellow CBS Radio peeps such as Mike Francesa and Joe Benigno. Beginning last Friday, the rest of the country will be able to enjoy his talents as he joins CBS Sports Radio on a national level to co-host with Brian Jones. The budding star went from producing for Benigno and Evan Roberts at WFAN before taking on a sports talk slot in Pittsburgh for the last five years. According to newday.com, Giannotti says "I went into it thinking this was going to be like going to college again -- learn, come back in a couple of years, like an extended business trip," he said. "I ended up developing all these great relationships." Now, the New York native heads back home where he will work out of the same studio Benigno and Roberts used when he was their producer. Oddly, Giannotti won't be heard in New York other than those listeners who listen online. CBS Radio, which owns WFAN, long has been expected to move its national programming into either the FAN's AM or FM signal, but so far that has not happened. Giannotti and Jones will succeed Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney, who are moving to the 9 a.m.-to-noon shift, and Dana Jacobson, who returned her focus to television. As for his impersonations, He said he once pretended to be Benigno for a five-minute phone conversation with Benigno's wife, Terry, in the old WFAN studios and she didn't know the difference." If you're familiar with Francesa and Benigno, enjoy THIS SAMPLE of Gregg's talent from his previous stint at The Fan.

MEDIA PREDICTION: Streaming Music is The Future

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 5TH, 2015 –– CNN's Frank Pallotta says 2014 was an up and down year for media, but as the year wound down he forecast three media predictions for the new year: Atop the list was that 2015 would see a big box office year for film-makers, ie. there would be light at the end of the tunnel for Hollywood following a somewhat dismal year. He credits new films such as "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and "Star Wars: 7The Force Awakens" as greatest contributors to the turnaround. At number two he pointed to Stand alone HBO GO as being the 'tipping point' for cord cutters. This followed HBO announcing in October that it would start selling subscriptions via the internet sometime in 2015 thus opening the network to a potentially new audience. But his third prediction is what caught our eye saying 'Streaming music is the future,' adding this would be the case whether 'Taylor Swift likes it or not. A reference to the spat between Taylor Swift and Spotify after the pop star pulled her music from the platform in November. As we head into 2015, Pallotta looks to Billboard 200 now counting streams, YouTube creating its own music service, and only one album achieving platinum status in 2014. "The music industry is clearly moving towards a streaming future," he suggests. Pallotta adds, "As media showed us in 2014 it can't stop, won't stop moving forward. READ ARTICLE HERE
