[LISTEN] Son-In-Law Placed Radio At Harry Caray’s Grave Site During World Series

7

THE MOUTH, NOVEMBER 4TH, 2016 –– A quarter century ago the iconic Cubs announcer Harry Caray said: “Sure as God made green apples, someday the Chicago Cubs are going to be in the World Series.” Now his Des Plaines grave site is filled with green apples along with a radio (at bottom of headstone) courtesy of his son-in-law, Coley Newell. According to WBBM, that prophecy came true Wednesday night when the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the World Series. Now, Caray’s gravesite at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines is surrounded by hundreds of green apples.

Newell says he saw that somebody had brought some green apples. “And that was a really nice touch. So, for Game 6, I bought a case of green apples. I bought some wooden bushels,” he says. “And the Cubs did so well in Game 6, I figured we’ve got to step it up a notch. So, I bought another four cases of apples, just hoping the mojo worked.” Newell says he also arranged with cemetery groundskeeper Don Zabinski to hook up a radio at Caray’s gravesite and to have it turned on before every World Series game. “We’d go through the same thing for seven different days,” he says. [WATCH] Boy's Call Into Radio Show Changes His Life

THE MOUTH, NOVEMBER 4TH, 2016 –– The true power of radio never ceases to amaze. Here's one more example reports FOX LA. Jack Chavez (center) an 11-year old, lost his father 3 years ago, and he and his mom have have experienced a tough time ever since.

Last week, Jack decided to call into Tim Conway Jr's show on KFI AM 640 explaining that whenever we would wait for him while he underwent dialysis they would always listen to the show." Conway recalled that when he was 13 or 14 he always used to listen to talk radio but said, "Every time I called, they would say you're not 18, you're not coming on. So I said if I ever get into talk radio, I'd always bring the kids on and let them say what they want to say."

7Conway decided to take up a collection to get Jack, who suffers from a congenital heart disease, a great birthday gift. "We were literally just going to pass around an old Dodgers hat around and raise a couple hundreds bucks," Conway explained. "Maybe $100, $200, and give this kid a nice present." Instead, they set up a GoFundMe page to raise enough money to send him to Disney World. By the following Wednesday, the page had raised more than $34,000. "Nobody asked Jack or Jack's mom Carol is she was Republican, or if she was black, white or Hispanic," Conway said. "Nobody asked about that. Everybody just threw in 10 bucks here, 20 bucks there. The average donation on GoFundMe was $54." "We think of him as our guardian angel and just to have that proof that he is and that we're being protected and cared for by something higher than us is just unbelievably amazing," Jack's mom (top right) Carol Chavez said. She says the money will help pay off bills and eventually help Jack go to college, which is something his father always wanted for him. WATCH

'He Put His Hand Up My Dress And Grabbed My Bare (A)ss'

Revealing New Details In Taylor Swift Alleged DJ Assault Case

THE MOUTH, NOVEMBER 3RD, 2016 –– Three years after the alleged incident, more details of court documents detailing Taylor Swift's account of the former Denver morning host who allegedly groped her during a photo have been revealed. In her deposition, Swift explained what happened when she met then KYGO/Denver host David Mueller at a concert in 2013 during a meet-and-greet.

“Right as the moment came for us to pose for the photo, he took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed my bare (ass) -- As soon as he grabbed my (a)ss, I became shocked and withdrawn and was barely able to say 'Thanks for coming,' which is what I say to everybody. I was barely able to get the words out, and it was like somebody switched the light off in my personality. So it was pretty quick that he was gone after that."

Shortly after Swift's accusation went public, Mueller was fired from the station where he worked. He filed a lawsuit against Swift in 2015, alleging that it was a case of mistaken identity and pointed to co-worker, Eddie Haskell, who Mueller claimed bragged to him about taking a photo with Swift and 'grabbing her butt'.” Representatives for Swift deny that claim, saying “Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault – it was Mueller. Recently a judge agreed to seal a photo which allegedly shows the radio host groping Swift. They lost their case seeking to seal the transcripts, however - See actual court documents obtained by TMZ HERE PHOTO/Ovidiu Hrubaru / Shutterstock

[LISTEN] KRBE Houston's Ryan Chase Tells Listeners He's Been Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

7THE MOUTH, NOVEMBER 3RD, 2016 –– We were so terribly sad to learn yesterday that our longtime friend and Boot Camp regular, Ryan Chase, co-host of The highly popular Roula and Ryan Show at 104.1 KRBE Houston has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. As reported by media blogger Mike McGuff, Chase told listeners yesterday that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

"I have decided recently that it is time to come clean and tell everyone about a health issue I have been dealing with. I have had this conversation with immediate family and now I feel like informing everyone. I always preface this chat with "I am not dying." My health had been poor for quite some time and even after making radical diet changes and clean living, I found my health was worsening." Fortunately, he said "I will be fine", adding, "My problems are nothing compared to what others have.

7Ryan tells Jockline, 'I Cannot thank everyone enough for the well wishes and positivity. Y'all are amazing and inspirational to me. I feel guilty that such a fuss is being made. I will make a complete recovery and my life is not in danger. It is nothing more than an inconvenience that will pass. There are so many people in this world that are facing a "true battle." I believe courage and bravery mean putting yourself on the line for someone else. That is not what I am doing here. This is just self preservation. In times where there are so many messages and images of hatred, y'all have restored my faith." LISTEN HERE

OMG! Cubs Win Series First Time In 108 Years

7

THE MOUTH, NOVEMBER 3RD, 2016 –– As we often say, Jockline is more than just industry news, but about what radio is talking about most. And this morning, no doubt, it's the CUB'S CLINCHING THE WORLD SERIES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 108 YEARS! Did we fail to mention The Billy Goat Curse Is Dead? According to cnn.com, the curse set the last time they got this far 71 years ago. On October 6, 1945, a month after the end of World War II, a Chicago tavern owner named William "Billy" Sianis went to Wrigley Field, intending to attend Game 4 of the World Series with his pet goat, Murphy. But, according to the Billy Goat Tavern website, while both had tickets, the goat was denied entry. No animals were allowed in the ballpark, plus Murphy smelled bad. Sianis, according to legend, threw up his arms and proclaimed, "The Cubs ain't gonna win no more. The Cubs will never win a World Series so long as the goat is not allowed in Wrigley Field." They had not won since. Until now. It happened. Chicago also accomplished that feat by winning the final two games on the road. The last team to do that was the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates.
