Cannon To Quit Rollin' On 92.3 FM New York

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2012 –– 92.3 New York's 'Rollin' With Nick Cannon Show is coming to a halt due to recent health issues. According to a CBS release, Cannon wrote: "Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to make my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule. It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support. I will continue to host my syndicated "Cannon's Countdown" weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep." This news comes on the heels of his being hospitalized last week to treat two blood clots in his lung and an enlarged right ventricle. He said on the air: "My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me—and he's not joking ... I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn't resting a lot and I was doing too much. I was overworking myself, working out too much." No word yet on the future of 92.3's morning show.

It comes following yesterday's comments on their afternoon show regarding Whitney Houston. “At some point you’re just sick of it all, and so is everybody else in the industry; all her friends and hangers on; everybody who knew had to deal with her. It’s like ah Jesus… here comes the crack ho again, what’s she gonna do ah look at that she’s doin handstands next to the pool. Very good crack ho… after awhile everybody’s exhausted. And then you find out she’s dead. It’s like really? Took this long?” This prompted KFI management to post at their website: John & Ken have been suspended for making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston. KFI AM 640 Management does not condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind." This was following by John Kobylt saying, “We made a mistake, and we accept the station’s decision. We used language that was inappropriate, and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston.”

"We Had A Heck of A Run:" MJ Airs Final Show Today On WFLZ Tampa [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2012 –– Longtime Tampa morning host, Todd "MJ" Schnitt draws his WFLZ show to a close after an amazing 18 years. He told a local TV station: "We had a heck of a run in morning drive ... if it weren't for the listeners, then I wouldn't have been here doing the MJ Morning Show for 18 years." Having started as the MJ & BJ show around the time OJ was making news in LA, The MJ Morning Show has pretty much always been at or near the top in ratings. He will continue to Host The Schnitt Show weekday afternoons from 3-6:00 p.m. ET. The Schnitt Show broadcasts from its flagship station 970 WFLA in Tampa and is syndicated nationally by Compass on nearly 50 stations Nationwide, including XM Extreme Talk 165 and Clear Channel’s KOGO San Diego; WCCF, Ft. Myers; WIOD, Miami; WFLA and WHNZ, Tampa; WSCC, Charleston and 92.5, San Antonio. His longtime friend and mentor, Gabe Hobbs of Hobbs Media told Jockline Daily: "The MJ Morning Show will go down as one of the greatest morning show runs ever at one radio station. When you look at all 18 years together it's mind boggling what M.J. & B.J. and later just M.J. accomplished. Whether you measure by audience, revenues, laughs, buzz index, bits, whatever....certainly among the best ever. Heck...M.J. came in to Tampa and saved us from ourselves. He was the Piéce de résistance for the evolution out of the Power Pig and into 93-3, FLZ," said Hobbs.

WFNZ/Charlotte's Zarzour To Walk To Work Until Bobcats Win Again [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2012 –– You may recall a certain former member of Charlotte's Ace & TJ Show once making a sport's bet involving quitting his job over their NFL Panthers. Well, he lost the bet and, true to his word, left the show. Fast forward to this season's NBA Charlotte's Bobcats who are on a 16 game losing streak and enter WFNZ's Taylor Zarzour, co-host of "The Drive" with Marc James. Well, he told listeners he was going to walk to work every day until the Bobcats win a game. Fun bit, huh? Only problem is he lives 10 miles from the station. He told WCNC TV: "A lot of people, they grow beards. They get up on billboards. They do something like that," he said. "I was thinking, maybe in some way I'll inspire these guys, but at the very least it's a way to get in shape and do something that's fun. "The Bobcats next game is Friday night in Toronto. Word play on his name have overtaken the internet and Tommy Griffiths of Big 100.3 Washington, DC couldn't bypass this photo. On Facebook he posted: Overplayed: Linsanity? Lincredible? Nikki Sixx Talks 'Rock Doc's' With Piers Morgan

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 16TH, 2012 –– In the aftermath of Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson's untimely deaths, the discussion is now shifting toward their highly publicized battles with presecription drugs and/or the doctors who prescribe them. Last night Premiere syndicated Nikki Sixx of The Motley Crue joined CNN's Pier's Morgan to weigh in. "I don't really understand how it works," said Sixx. "How does nobody get caught doing this. I don't have experience in this field, but I imagine if your getting different prescriptions filled from different doctors there has to be some sort of checks and balances here." Piers agreed, saying "There doesn't seem to be..." Sixx added: "Personal assistants, the handlers, the road managers, the people directly answering to the lawyers, the managers the accountants and record labels -- where does the fault lie? Is it with the artist? I mean I had to find the courage to turn my life around ... I was just a slave to the system." WATCH PORTION OF VIDEO HERE
