Jimmy Fallon Kicks Off New Era Of 'The Tonight Show' [VIDEO]

"I'm Jimmy Fallon. I'll Be Your Host.. For Now!'

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2014 –– No doubt, Jimmy Fallon's debut as host of NBC's 'The Tonight Show' is what every radio show is buzzing about this morning, and based on most reports, it was HUGE success. For the first time in over 40 years, the popular show returned to its roots in New York City. Fallon opened by saying 'I'm Jimmy Fallon and I'll be your host...for now," he joked. He then went to thank the show's previous hosts who he says made it possible for him getting here. He then thanked Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and then Jay Leno AGAIN. The lifelong New Yorker was joined in the audience by his parents, 7Jim and Gloria Fallon. "I wish we could've gotten you better seats," he quipped. Following the monologue, Fallon returned to his new, stylish desk and made note of the person who bet him a $100 dollars he'd never make it to 'The Tonight Show." "You know who you are," said Fallon. "You owe me a hundred bucks, buddy." At this point, Robert De Niro walks on from backstage and plops down a hundred dollar bill. He's then followed by others such Tina Fey, Lindsay Lohan, Mariah Carey (who took a while pulling the bill from her cleavage), Kim Kardashian, Rudy Gulliani, Mike Tyson, Joe Namath, Lady Gaga & Stephen Colbert who, instead of a bill, doused Fallon with a hundred dollars in pennies - WATCH VIDEO HERE

Bob Kingsley's 50 Year Career Honored By 50 Artists At Opry

7

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2014 –– WestwoodOne syndicated host and Country Radio Hall of Famer Bob Kingsley was honored last night for his 40 years in national radio syndication as part of American Country Countdown (1974-2006) and as host and owner of Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40 (2006-present). The surprise event, benefiting the Opry Trust Fund, included performances, appearances and taped messages by a mix of industry legends, today’s hit-makers and Nashville’s most influential singer-songwriters. A 50-year veteran of the radio and music industries, Kingsley walked into the Grand Ole Opry House believing he was there to pay tribute to the Grand Ole Opry’s 89th birthday, when in reality, the evening was all conceived to honor him. "I could not have been more surprised," said a visibly moved Kingsley, "and I could not feel more honored. I have made a career of country music radio because I love it, and to have my friends in the business, from artists and songwriters to industry executives, tell me my work has made a difference--well it means the world to me. And to have the people I work with day in and day out here to celebrate with me makes it all the more special." Two Last Valentine's Day Stunts That Take The Cake [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2014 –– Okay, we lied. We said we only had room for just a few Valentine's Day stunts from last week, but these two take the cake --LITERALLY! As my friend, Paige Nienaber would likely agree, involve a large giant cake and things almost always goe well. Take KS95/Minneapolis' Ryan & Shannon morning show's 'From Dud To A Stud' promotion. have wives nominate their ‘romantic dud’ of a husband. They all gather at the Mall Of America to crawl through 100 cakes looking for a tiny heart 7charm. Whichever dud finds the charm and reclaims his stud-ness wins a trip to the sunny warm beaches of Mexico. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE MESSY MADNESS. ––––––– Next up, let's head over to 971zht Salt Lake City's Frankie C's Morning Zoo where they presented their now famous 'Diamond Dive.' He tells Jockline Daily, 'We've done the Diamond Dive for 14 years. Every Valentine's Day we get ONE big cake, ONE diamond ring and let 97 women jump into it! Each year it gets crazier and crazier! We get about 900 entries (each time) from women who want to participate!' As you see from the fine photo at right - yes, that's a huge cake in the middle. CLICK HERE and see how things turned out and meet the lucky lady winner.

Long Island Morning Hosts Suspended Following Fake Homophobic Note

7THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2014 –– Steve Harper and Leeana Karlson of Long Island's WKJY/K-98.3 KJY admitted they fabricated a note from a parent regarding an invitation to a child’s birthday party. Claimed they wanted to trigger a ‘"healthy discourse on a highly passionate topic." They apologized on Friday for fabricating the note from a parent who refused to allow her child to attend the birthday party of a classmate with gay parents. The fictitious parent chastised a same-sex couple over their child's birthday invite. According to New 7York's Daily News, the hosts continued with the story even after it found 'a life of its on' on the Internet. Harper and Karlson then posted an apology, saying the story, in fact, was totally fictitious, and created by the two of us. This was done without the knowledge of K-98.3 management or ownership. WKJY since released a statement on their Facebook Page from K-98.3 GM/Market Mgr. for Connoisseur Media Long Island, Dave Widmer (R) writing in part that K-98.3 (WKJY) Morning Show 'aired a story about a girl’s birthday party and one parent’s objection to the same-sex situation of that girl’s parents. After this aired, it was brought to K-98.3 management’s attention that all the details of the story were completely fabricated independently by Steve and Leeana ... An internal investigation was quickly launched which has resulted in the immediate suspension of Steve Harper and Leeana Karlson from the K-98.3 Morning Show..." SEE ENTIRE POST HERE

Radio Spreads Love, Marriage And Sliders On V-Day [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2014 –– Whewww! Leave it to Valentines Day to give Jockline Daily's inbox a workout. To be fair, there's not enough room to share the many wedding tie-ins, including a few at burger joints. But while we still attempt to wrap our heads around the combination of white wedding dresses and jalapeno cheese sliders, here are a couple others that caught our attention. At Cumulus' KBUL/Reno they married 16 couples as they went round-and-round on the Ferris Wheel (R) inside the world’s largest sporting goods store. Derek, Bob, Tanner, JJ, Jay and the entire KBUL crew did a great job of erecting the large wheel, smack dab in the middle of the store as excited wedding couples, friends, family and listeners enjoyed the festivity. ––––––––– At WXMA - MAX 102.3 MAX Louisville, they had a different kind of love 7affair as they delivered Valentines to the kids at Kosair Children's Hospital! The "Cupid's Kids" campaign was hoping to collect 2,000 valentines for the children and instead MAX Listeners collected over 200,000! Morning Show Host/PD George Lindsey (upper right) said "...it was overwhelming, It really brings into focus what true love is on Valentine's Day. We are humbled and so blessed" –––––––– Oh yes, about those burgers. Z107.7 St. Louis's Curt Copeland officiated for the marriage of a St. Louis couple at a local White Castle Fast Food Restaurant. "Every princess wants to get married in a castle," said Kelsey Hallcock (now Kelsey Gillespie) to the Belleville News Democrat, who married Joe Gillespie.
