Sirius Radio Founder Envisions World of Cyber Clones

THE MOUTH, MARCH 16TH, 2015 –– During day 3 of SXSW 2015, one of the fastest growing venues of the top movers and shakers of music, film and interactive, Martin Rothblatt, founder of Sirius Satellite Radio and current chief executive of United Therapeutics, shared a vision of robotic mind-clones that may accompany us to the ballot box or grocery store, sit in on business meetings we can't make, argue with us occasionally and keep our essence alive long after we're gone, according to usatoday.com. "Eventually, these advances in software will rise to the level of consciousness," said Rothblatt. Named by Forbes as the highest-paid female CEO in America, Rothblatt added "Every company will try to out-Siri Siri until we have consciousness. It will be like water that rises and rises and rises and, before we know it, we're in an ocean of cyber consciousness." Rothblatt said robots and humans don't have to choose sides – such as in the plotlines seen in popular Hollywood movies – but will live in a peaceful co-existence that will make them virtually indistinguishable from one another. "It's not us versus cyberspace," she said. "We're merging together." Through United Therapeutics, a company she founded nearly two decades ago to save the life of her daughter, who suffered from a rare pulmonary disease, Rothblatt has overseen advances in organ regeneration and the system used to ferry organs from donor to patient. SXSW 2015 runs through March 22nd Austin.

Dave Ryan Pens Book To Help You Avoid Making The Same Mistakes He Did

THE MOUTH, MARCH 16TH, 2015 –– KDWB/Minneapolis' Dave Ryan wants to save people the trouble of making the same mistakes I did. So, he's written a book on his 'life lessons. "For example, when I loaned a friend $1000 and never saw it again, BOOM! Lesson learned! I cover everything from appreciating your parents, the power of saying 'No', and the importance of the Courtesy Flush." "Take a Shower, Show Up on Time and Don't Steal Anything (And Other Sh*t I've Learned the Hard Way) is Dave's first book to be published, although it's not the first one he's written.7 "I wrote a book about 15 years ago and then sat on it until someone else beat me to market with the exact same idea. Even the title was nearly identical. My fault for not moving on a good idea, which is lesson #20 of #101 in my book. If you have a great idea, take action on it before someone else does it first." In addition to his show, he also coaches morning talent throughout iHeart Media. "Am I done making mistakes? Uhhhhhh, no. I've got a ton more to make, but it's not likely I'll make the same ones again. Once was enough." "Take a Shower..." is available on Amazon.com for 16.95. You can find out more on daveryanbook.com.

Robin Thicke's Lawyer To Appeal 'Blurred Lines' Verdict

“We owe it to songwriters around the world to make sure this verdict doesn’t stand' - Attorney

THE MOUTH, MARCH 13TH, 2015 –– As expected, Robin Thicke’s Lawyer has said he will appeal the ‘Blurred Lines’ verdict after a jury found that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams copied Marvin Gaye’s 1977 song, “Got To Give It Up,” on Tuesday. According to mtv.com, Thicke’s lawyer, Howard E. King, said that “We are going to exercise every post-trial remedy we have to make sure this verdict does not stand.” He told Fox Business Network that he will be appealing the decision that his client, along with Williams, pay $7.4 million to the Gaye family, saying: “We owe it to songwriters around the world to make sure this verdict doesn’t stand. My clients know that they wrote the song ‘Blurred Lines’ from their hearts and souls and no other source.”‘7 Pharrell testified in court that he did not directly copy Gaye, but just tried to mimick the feel of that era. “I must’ve been channeling,” Pharrell said, “that feeling, that late-’70s feeling. Sometimes when you look back on your past work, you see echoes of people. But that doesn’t mean that’s what you were doing.” Having lost the case, King felt as if he had disappointed all musicians and many others opined the decision will affect creativity in music. “I think I let songwriters down around the world,” King said.

Along the way, as Jockline has reported, she has spoken out against ageism and how it's affecting artists below 30. But leave it to Howard Stern to bring out some of her most intimate and darkest memories in this week's lengthy interview on his SiriusXM Show.. She told Stern about being raped as a young woman in New York At 19. We also learned for the first time she once had a relationship with Tupac Shakur; How her former boyfriend, painter Jean-Michel Basquiat destroyed all the paintings he had given to her after their breakup. "He was an amazing man and deeply talented. I loved him," she said. "When I broke up with him, he made me give all the painting back to him. And then he painted over them in black. There were, of course, lighter moments, like the time she was fired from her short job at Dunkin’ Donuts for playing around with the jelly squirter. She got to thinking about what might’ve been if she hadn’t been let go. PHOTO/howardstern.com " LISTEN TO INTERVIEW HERE
