A Producer’s Dream: The Scoop on Scoop.It

THE MOUTH, APRIL 6TH, 2012 –– Are you in to Scoop. It? If not, you're missing out big time, especially if you're a producer. Digital content strategist, Stepanie Winans, of The Randy Lane company, post a nice piece that gives the total scoop on Scoop it. "Scoop. It is a free publishing-by-curation platform that allows you to curate content based on keywords and sources you provide. It will suggest stories, articles, videos, news for you to scoop. You can also use the bookmarklet to scoop anything you see on the web to your Scoop. It page. You can curate on your page and on the web, saving interesting content for your show in one place. You choose the keywords and the sources you like. Instead of searching a million websites individually, you add them here. It’s a Producer’s dream. While some of the scooped ideas are used for the weekly content Ideas, many aren’t because they are topical and may be outdated by the time the newsletter is delivered in client emails. Because I scoop the ideas daily anyway, I began sharing my page Radio On-Air Content on Twitter so the show prep doesn’t go to waste. I now have thirty shows following my topic. Many have created their own Scoop. It pages for show prep where they can scoop their own topics from the web and rescoop mine to their page, as well. Meet Stephanie Winans up close in Miami at this year's Morning Show Boot Camp 24, where she present "5 Ways To Create A Killer Social Media Game Plan." CLICK HERE FOR FULL ARTICLE

HERE COMES THE SONS: Sons Of Beatles Open To Forming Band

THE MOUTH, APRIL 5TH, 2012 –– For Beatle die-hards who always dreamed of a Beatle's reunion, you never got your wish, but here's news that might bring your second best chance. James McCartney (shown l), a dead ringer of his Father, Sir Paul, said in an interview with the BBC that there's a chance they could form a band, but getting Zak Starkey (shown far right), son of Ringo, would be the toughest of the four to join the group. And while he doesn’t think he could form a group that would overtake the Beatles, he feels maybe he could form one to be just as good. "I would love to be equal to The Beatles, but that’s quite tough,” said James (wow, ya think?). James played guitar on two of his father’s recent albums; Starkey serves as unofficial drummer for The Who. Shown, l-r, next to James, are Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey. 7

THE MOUTH, APRIL 5TH, 2012 –– First off, our thanks to the many fine photos sent to Jockline Daily from those in attendance at last Sunday's ACM Awards in Las Vegas. To be fair, we couldn't run them all, but this one caught our attention. Yup, there at a reception the night before the show at the MGM, KYGO/Denver's Kelly And Rider were there to receive ACM's Major Market Personalities of the Year. As Kelly told Jockline Daily, "Nice to add to my collection. 3 CMA's. 1 Marconi and now an ACM. I guess that makes it official...I am a TROPHY wife! Good we I won that in Vegas cause I didn't win at Blackjack." Not settling for the award alone, Kelly decided she'd bring home some Chris Young's moobs as well. Nicely done!

TOP NEWS FROM THE UK: Isle of Wight Radio Host Jubilee Gig

By Graham Mack

THE MOUTH, APRIL 5TH, 2012 –– Isle of Wight Radio has announced plans for a food and music festival on the weekend of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The event at Northwood Park on 4th June will be headlined by island group Level 42. The festival will be the first headline slot on the island for Level 42 since the early 90s, and will be raising money to support Newport-based Beaulieu House – a residential respite unit for children with learning difficulties. Level 42 frontman Mark King is a patron of the charity.

Obsessed' Fan Who Mugged BBC Radio 2’s Janice Long Faces Jail Time - Janice had just attended an Echo & the Bunnymen gig in London when she was targeted by Rita Isidori outside BBC Broadcasting House. The 52-year-old – a ‘fanatical’ fan of the band – pushed Miss Long up against a wall and shouted: ‘I’m a journalist, give me your pass!’ She then ripped the pass – a large fabric sticker from the DJ’s  clothing and ran away. Janice suffered an injury to her right hand and bruising to her back. She’d been on her way to host her late-night show when the attack happened on September 26 last year. Shortly afterwards, Isidori turned up at the concert venue, the London Palladium, and was spotted by the band’s manager Pete Byrne, who had been alerted by Miss Long. Police were called and Isidori was arrested. At Southwark Crown Court yesterday, Peter Zinner, prosecuting, said: ‘Being an obsessed fan and being desperate to gain access to the concert and backstage party... she waited for an opportunity. She saw Miss Long leaving, followed her and then she attacked’. Isidori, who is from Italy but lives in Dunlop, near Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, pleaded guilty to robbery.

Key 103 Pesenters Take To Sky For Charity - Key 103 presenters Mike Toolan, Chelsea Spokes, Darren Proctor and Alex James headed out across Manchester in a helicopter as part of a week in which the station raised more than £84,000. The Cash for Kids week was raising money for CLIC Sargent. On Friday, the breakfast duo Mike and Chelsea along with Darren and Alex visited local schools in a helicopter to appeal for donations to the appeal. Other activities included on-air auctions, with one listener paying £20,000 for a Thomas Sabo bracelet signed by the boyband One Direction.
