Randy Jackson Calls It Quits On American Idol; All Four Judges Rumored To Follow

THE MOUTH, MAY 10TH, 2013 –– The man who put new meaning in the word 'yo,' it's a word, right?, is calling season 12 on American Idol his last year. He told E in an exclusive report that after 12 years of judging on American Idol, he's decided it's time to leave: "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures." Next to host, Ryan Seacrest, he's the only original member who has remained with the show. That said, his departure may just be the beginning. An individual with knowledge of Fox's plans told The Wrap that longtime producer Nigel Lythgoe is expected to get the boot as well as all remaining judges. They added, Fox was not considering bringing back Jennifer Lopez. No word of Ryan Seacrest's future on Idol was mentioned in the report, but it appears he may have gotten a save.

THE MOUTH, MAY 10TH, 2013 –– All ears were on Detroit's Drew & Mike Show following Wednesday's shocker that they would be ending their 22 yr. on WRIF/101.1. He added later, “There will always be a cheaper show, a younger show,” Lane said. “But the last job? ... We’re done? I don’t think that’s true.” Meanwhile, while all indications are that Dave (Hunter) and Chuck (Charles Urquhart), “Dave and Chuck the Freak” morning show (and Lisa Way) would follow the longtime duo, Greater Media has yet to confirm and Dave and Chuck have remained coy. STUDY: Radio Growing Among Multiple Platforms; View Personalities As Local Celebrities

THE MOUTH, MAY 10TH, 2013 –– Clear Channel Media and Entertainment (CCM+E) unveiled the results of an extensive study of the State of Listening in America, which underscore radio's continued, widespread popularity, particularly among Millennial's and Generation Z, who listen to radio regularly and describe it as "trustworthy," "human" and "relate-able." The study is the first comprehensive audio analysis that addresses the various ways people are listening today and also clearly demonstrates that the growing prevalence of mobile devices coupled with easy access to streaming apps have made radio more relevant to users. The comprehensive research, conducted for CCM+E by research firms Latitude Research and OpenMind Strategy, revealed that listeners enjoy connecting with their favorite stations and on-air personalities via social media, illustrating how social media has made radio increasingly interactive and personal. The study shows that 92 percent of Americans regularly tune in to AM/FM radio and that much of this listening happens at or near a place of purchase – radio's significant and "unique selling proposition. Also a majority of listeners view on-air personalities as local celebrities and reported that DJs engage listeners regularly on both digital and broadcast platforms. "It's gone from calling in [to the station], to texting, to Twitter," said one participant. "It keeps getting easier" [to be part of the radio station's community]. READ COMPLETE STUDY HERE

Jeff & Jer' Scoop Interview With Cleveland Hero Charles Ramsey [AUDIO]

THE MOUTH, MAY 9TH, 2013 –– While the media has been abuzz with news of CNN's Anderson Cooper landing an interview with Cleveland hero Charles Ramsey, leave it to KyXy/San Diego's Tommy Sablan to scoop one of Ramsey's rare radio appearances. Joining today's show, 7Jerry Cesak began by asking what it's like being "YOU" these days? Ramsey replied "stressful." He was referring to how some of the people around him, his support team, have been used like pawns in a chess game." He also didn't understand why Police had put his phone number on YouTube. As far as an alleged other HERO who was showing up on TV trying to claim credit for rescuing the women from the Ariel Castro home, Ramsey called him a complete coward. "He ran away like a "little woman," said Ramsey. Jer' mentioned that bail for Castro has been set at $8 Million, to which Ramsay called it a pittance compared to what he did to the young women and then claimed (Ramsey's) family had $8 million in Jewelry. Jer' seemed doubtful saying he didn't look like someone who had $8 million. "He didn't look like a guy who would kidnap that girl for ten years either," countered Ramsey. They wrapped up with the parody "Dead Giveaway." PHOTO/Screen Grab - LISTEN TO AUDIO
