[WATCH] Former LA Host Pleads No Contest In Body-Shaming Incident; Gets 3-Years Probation
THE MOUTH, MAY 25TH, 2017 –– In one of the first cases of its kind, a former Playboy model and LA Radio host, Dani Mathers (inset), was sentenced to 3 years probation and community service in the highly publicized 'body-shaming' photo case. It involved a photo she took of a nude 70-year-old woman in the shower of at a gym locker room and posted it on social media. On Wednesday (5/24), Mathers pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor. In addition to her probation, she was also ordered to perform 30 days of community labor, likely doing graffiti-removal work, according to the City Attorney's Office.
This is the first case of its kind prosecuted by L. A.'s City Attorney and one of the first cases in the nation. Mathers, 30, sparked a firestorm of criticism when she posted the photo on her Snapchat account in July 2016. The picture showed the naked woman from behind, with Mathers' head turned away from the camera, with the message, "If I can't unsee this then you can't either." Shortly after the photo was posted, Mathers apologized, writing on her Twitter account, "I'm sorry for what I did. I need to take some time to myself now to reflect on why I did this horrible thing."" In another, she indicated that she did not mean to post the photo publicly, only send it to a friend. REPORT: FCC Facing More Shrinkage Following New Budget Proposal
THE MOUTH, MAY 24TH, 2017 –– On the heels of The FCC's decision to not fine The Late Show's Stephen Colbert aimed at President Donald Trump (see Popline below), the news may serve as a side-effect of the agency's ever-diminishing staff. At the time, 
Chairman Ajit Pai (inset) said during a radio interview, "We have received a number of complaints, as I said, and we’ll follow the standard operating procedures, as we always do, and make sure we evaluate what the facts are and apply the law fairly and fully."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deep cuts may continue as the commission on Tuesday put out its proposed budget for next year. It shows that Enforcement Bureau wishes to take staffing down to 189 full-timers, from 204 currently and from 238 in 2016. That means less individuals not only to investigate indecency complaints, but also to enforce anti-competitive practices in broadcasting, police unauthorized communication facilities, ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities and so forth.
And The Enforcement Bureau is not alone. There's also the Media Bureau — which does such things as conduct rulemaking proceedings and comprehensive economic and legal studies while resolving petitions, declaratory rulings and adjudications related to electronic media services. The budget would have staffing down to 149 full-timers from 168 last year. The Public Safety & Homeland Security Bureau would shed seven staffers in the coming year. Overall, under the proposed budget, the FCC would have 1,448 full-time workers, which is an 11.65 percent cut from 2016. See full report HERE

Farneda began as a public affairs intern for WXRT midday host Terri Hemmert in 1983 and shifted to Assistant Music Director under then Music Director and current WXRT morning host Lin Brehmer in 1985. He was subsequently promoted to Assistant Program Director/Music Director of 93XRT in 2001. He later added Operations Director duties for the station, prior to leaving the music business altogether in 2014 to focus on the extensive renovation of his historic Frank Lloyd Wright landmark home in west suburban Riverside.

According to a release, The late night TV star will also hand-pick a playlist of his favorite performances that aired the Late Show with David Letterman over the years. Letterman is a self-proclaimed fan of Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country station and says he “invited himself” to the studio to co-host the special episode. “I love Elizabeth Cook,” Letterman said in a statement. “She’s the best thing on Outlaw Country. Full disclosure, we briefly married in the 50’s. Listening to her show Apron Strings makes me want to steal a car and drive to Barstow." “I honestly didn’t think I could love this man any more,” Cook said of Letterman. “When he invited me on his show the first time, it was a life changing moment. Getting to know him and his deep passion for music has made him all the more beloved.” The special will air Wednesday, May 24 at 9 a.m. ET on Sirius XM channel 60. After returning to work on Monday, he told listeners on Boston's AMP 103.3 morning show, "Last week you may have noticed we were in replays for the majority of the week. Unfortunately, I have some very sad news to share. While wife Jess who was nearly 9-mos. pregnant, we lost our baby."
Last Tuesday TJ said that his wife called to say she was worried because she couldn't feel the baby move. TJ packed up and rushed to the hospital, but since this had happened a couple of weeks before they weren't as alarmed. He added, 'We still don't know why it happened. THE MOUTH, MAY 24TH, 2017 –– Local radio in Manchester swung into action as soon as the news of the bombing at the Manchester Arena came in at the Ariana Grande concert. They spoke to callers in the area and are still actively involved passing on information to and from police and emergency services. Loved ones of those who are missing have been appealing for information directly on the air. Heart FM is encouraging local people to give blood. 59 people are still being treated at six hospitals around Greater Manchester.
Amy Scarisbrick (inset), a reporter for Manchester’s Key 103 was at the scene. She told Key 103's Darryl Morris on air how it felt in Manchester in the hours following the incident, "The streets of Manchester are just silent, eerie, ghost town-like," she explained. She went on to say how she witnessed a controlled explosion on a suspicious item which thankfully turned out to be 'abandoned clothing' on Cathedral Garden.
