Nicki Minaj And Hot 97's Rosenberg Make Nice [VIDEO]

M

THE MOUTH, MATY 29TH, 2013 –– In a well-documented radio spat that's lasted nearly a year, it looks like current Idol judge and rap diva, Nicki Minaj, and Hot 97 morning host, Peter Rosenberg, have finally buried the hatchet--sorta. The feud which came as a result of comments Rosenberg made about Minaj during last year's "Summer Jam," resulted in her pulling out of the event and no longer speaking with Rosenberg or the station. Yesterday, the calm finally returned as she joined Peter on air for an in-studio interview. From all accounts, it looked like her and the show MAY be back on track. On the show, she thanked him for setting the record straight, and then said, "It's water under the bridge…I mean it's so long ago. I can't even act like I care anymore, but I appreciate you guys having me." She said In hindsight...I should've just did the show," and she went on to add why she took such offense. "I never found you funny. I never found you entertaining. I never found you smart. I just found you annoying...To me you don't have enough of a resumé to make those comments." Yeah, that's progress, right. Hey, at least she showed up. Now we'll see if she performs during this year's Summer Jam. WATCH VIDEO HERE

Toledo Reunion Brings Longtime Friends And Colleagues Together

THE MOUTH, MAY 29TH, 2013 –– Without much fanfare and advanced publicity, onetime Toledo radio executive, Peter Cavanaugh, a member of Cleveland's Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, pulled together an informal gathering of former Toledo radio stars last night at an uptown restaurant. According to The Toledo Blade, the reunion turned into quite a celebration with many of those whom Cavanaugh got into the business. Mark Benson, a 30-year vet, who now host mornings on classic rock station WXKR-FM, 94.5, said it was Mr. Cavanaugh’s appearance at a radio conference for college students in 1985 that got him “fired up about doing radio.” Cavanaugh, who was once chief operating officer of Reams Broadcasting when it owned WIOT-FM, 104.7, and WCWA-AM, 1230, teamed Benson with a Flint radio talent, Jeff Lamb. They became Jeff and Mark, “The Dawnbusters,” in the early 1990s. Becky Shock, who now broadcasts afternoons on WRQN-FM, 93.5, started her radio career as an intern at WIOT. “I think how lucky I was to be 20 years old and to work in a place like that with someone like Peter, who encourages you and has you push your limits with things you’re not comfortable with,” she said. “He was always a big supporter. “They are all my kids,” he said later, when asked about this reunion of radio friends and colleagues. “And I love them very much.” Of course, radio's best bud, Art Vuolo, was there to capture the evening and provide the attached photol READ ENTIRE ARTICLE HERE PHOTO/Kirk Baird - Toledo Blade

Toronto Mayor Takes To Radio Show To Defend Drug Allegations

THE MOUTH, MAY 28TH, 2013 –– As Jockline Daily reported last week, Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford, along with his brother Doug, who also host a weekend radio show on Newstalk 1010/Toronto, took last weekend off amid allegations of a video showing Rob using crack cocaine. They returned to their show this past weekend and vigorously challenged the allegations with the mayor calling the media “maggots” and stating definitively that there is no video showing him using crack cocaine. About half way through the show, a caller asked him if he is on the alleged video and if he was posing with his arm around Anthony Smith, a man who was shot to death, in a photograph that circulated with the stories. According to the nationalpost.com, Ford said “Number one: There’s no video, so that’s all I can say. You can’t comment on something that doesn’t exist,” Rob Ford said. To the photograph, Mr. Ford responded: “I take pictures with everyone.” Last Friday, in a statement he denied using crack cocaine or that he is addicted to the drug. He said then: “As for a video, I cannot comment on a video that I have never seen or does not exist.” On Saturday, the Globe and Mail quoted unnamed sources saying Doug Ford was a dealer of hashish in the 1980s for about seven years, ending the year he turned 22. Doug Ford has denied the report calling the accusations disgusting.
