"I'm tired of taking all the heat!"

THE MOUTH, MAY 3RD, 2013 –– Longtime 'Lovelines' Radio host, Dr. Drew has apparently had it with all the flack he's taken over when a former star dies of drug addiction. During an interview on the Dial-Global syndicated Zach Sang & the Gang show he said he wouldn't be filming a new season of the reality show. "I don't have plans to do that again," Pinsky said. He added that he's tired of being blamed when a celebrity he 5treated on the show ended up dying from drug addiction. "I'm tired of taking all the heat. It's just ridiculous," he said. "It's very stressful and very intense for me. And to have people questioning my motives and taking aim at me because people get sick and die, because they have a life threatening disease, then I have to take blame for that? Rodney King has a heart attack and I have to take blame for that? That's really what is happening these days." Five former celebrities, including Mindy McCready, Jeff Conoway, Rodney King, Mike Starr and Joey Kovar, died of their addictions, Pinsky cited Tom Sizemore as an example of the show's success story. "We worked with him 10 years before he came on the show .. Bob and I worked with him a lot and couldn't get him sober. And he got sober on 'Celebrity Rehab.' That's awesome." LISTEN TO AUDIO

FEMA and Premiere Networks Join For More Preparedness

THE MOUTH, MAY 3RD, 2013 –– The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced a cooperative effort with Premiere Networks and private sector broadcasters that will provide an alternative method for radio stations to receive emergency information during a national emergency. FEMA has added Premiere Networks as a Primary Entry Point station, which delivers information and instructions to the public in an emergency when there is no commercial power. As part of the cooperative effort, Premiere, would use its satellite program receivers in thousands of affiliate radio stations across the country as another tool for delivering national Emergency Alert System (EAS) messages. The radio affiliates would in turn broadcast the emergency messages to the public within its network. “This cooperative effort between FEMA and Premiere Networks is one of the latest initiatives to engage the private sector’s cooperation in raising community preparedness across the nation,” said Damon Penn, Assistant Administrator of FEMA’s National Continuity Program. “We count on the broadcasting industry to alert and warn the public through the standard broadcast Emergency Alert System (EAS) including AM, FM, and satellite radio, as well as broadcast, cable and satellite TV, if a national emergency occurs,” said Penn.

KORNHEISER: ESPN Radio Hosts Issued Guidelines On Discussing Gay Athletes Following Jason Collin's Flap - [AUDIO]

THE MOUTH, MAY 2ND, 2013 –– Following ESPN Analyst Chris Broussard speaking out against NBA player Jason Collin's announcement, fellow host Tony Kornheiser revealed on Tuesday's show that ESPN had since issued guidelines to its employees on the correct way to discuss gay athletes. He said the network wasn't telling its employees how to think, but, according to lgbtqnation, encouraged them to use the word “gay” instead of “homo(s)exual,” and “(s)exual orientation” instead of “(s)exual preference.” They said that terms such as ‘homo(s)exuality’ or ‘homo(s)exual’ is often hurled at people who are gay as a slur,” said Kornheiser. Kornheiser applauded Collins for coming out, but suggested that it wasn't “as landscape-changing as other people might think it is.” On Monday, Chris Broussard, said that Collins was a sinner “walking in open rebellion to God, and to Jesus Christ,” and that he would not characterize him as a Christian. The network responded with a statement that is regrets that “a discussion of personal viewpoints” became a “distraction.” SOURCE: lgbtqnation.com LISTEN TO AUDIO

After being labeled its "Donkey of the Day," Broussard told the show's members "I'm fine with homosexuals. I have no problem with homosexuals. Obviously as I stated on ESPN, I'm a Christian ... I come across various lifestyles covering the NBA on an everyday basis. LZ Granderson (a ESPN commentator who's gay) we've been friends for years. We've had discussions on his lifestyle and my faith and we've respectfully disagreed ... I never claimed to be perfect. I think you misinterpreted what I'm saying," Broussard said. KJOT/105.1 Boise Continues Battle With FCC Over Contest Forfeiture

THE MOUTH, MAY 2ND, 2013 –– Five years ago, Journal's KJOT-FM/105.1 Boise held the 'Ultimate Garage Contest' which included a chance to win 15 prizes. Among them was a 2001 Honda, a dirt bike, appliances and gift cards all packed into a garage. All the prizes would go to one who ended up with a key to the garage. According to the Idaho Statesman, less than two weeks after the contest, someone filed a complaint with the FCC, saying the station, which has since changed from J105 to Variety Rock 105.1, had not made clear that the contest was winner-take-all. The FCC agreed and ordered the station to pay a $4,000 forfeiture. The station refused and on April 8th asked the FCC to reconsider, saying the the fine was based on incomplete information, misapplied a precedent and denied the media company due process. On April 26th - five years from the day of the giveaway - Idaho's U.S. attorney, Wendy Olson, sued in federal court in Boise seeking the initial penalty plus interest. They claimed only two of the 10 promotional transcripts provided by Journal indicated that all of the prizes would go to one person. Journal Broadcast argued that the contest's name, "Ultimate Garage," also indicated that everything in the garage would go to one person, according to court documents. The FCC has yet to find evidence to support the complainant's other allegation suggesting the winner was predetermined.

THE MOUTH, MAY 2ND, 2013 –– No sooner had we hit the send key on yesterday's Jockline Daily before the young and handsome and newly anointed STAR on Hollywood's Walk of Fame ring up Jockline Daily with a thank you and question. After compliments on our multiple posts this week of his recognition, he then asked WHO the woman was we featured yesterday as the wife of The late Real Don Steele? We pleaded innocent saying it came from the person who sent us the photo. But then, with an assist from radios' uber bud, Art Vuolo, he provided us with a photo of the REAL Shaune Steele shown at right. Our apologies for the oversight. Art told Jockline Daily the turnout for Kelly's event was apparently one of largest gathering ever for a radio host. Kelly joked that his next goal is getting his famous hat cemented in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
