While not naming Limbaugh directly, Dickey said "We've had a tough go of it the last year ...the facts are indisputable regarding the impact certain things have had on ad dollars." Guthrie currently oversees all of CMG’s radio markets and was named Sr. VP of Radio in 2012. Guthrie joined Cox 1998 as VP and GM for its Long Island, NY properties and has been Regional VP for Cox Radio, where her stations have won multiple honors – including Marconi awards, Crystal Awards, New York Air Awards, AWRT Gracie Awards – for programming excellence and outstanding community service. WPLR New Haven's Chaz & AJ Offer $1,000 To Purchase Burial Plot For Marathon Bomber, So Long As It's Not In Their Backyard [AUDIO] THE MOUTH, MAY 8TH, 2013 –– WPLR/New Haven and WFOX-FM/Stamford, CT's Chaz and AJ, along with attorney, Norm Pattis, spoke to listeners yesterday who had deceased relatives buried in the same Hamden cemetary that was offered to the family of the dead Boston Marathon bomber. They then offered to personally purchase, up to $1,000, a burial plot for Boston bombing suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, as long as it is not in the home state of Connecticut or in Massachusetts. Chaz told listeners: "We've been through enough in this state, I can speak for most Connecticut residents when I say we really don't want him here" said Chaz. "We've had some historically horrible things happen recently, we don't want Connecticut to be known as a final resting place of a terrorist." Chaz and AJ say they fielded hundreds of calls from angry residents, many who have loved ones buried throughout the state. WINK-FM Flips To MORE-FM; Elvis Moves To Y100-FM THE MOUTH, MAY 7TH, 2013 –– Longtime Ft. Myers FL. calls, WINK-FM, came to screeching halt this week as they flipped to MORE-FM, a move that will put the emphasis on music and offer less talk. Along with new imaging, bearing a striking resemblance to NASH-FM/New York, the station posted on Twitter: “What a concept!, A station that plays MORE music, with LESS talk.” According to news-press.com, in the transition, two of its popular hosts, Elvis Duran and Gina Birch, were dropped from the lineup. GM, Wayne Simons of Fort Myers Broadcasting Co. said “We dropped Elvis. … He just didn’t fit in with our new format.” No details were provided on Birch’s departure. According to Duran, he wrote on his Facebook page he'll l be moving to Y100 FM on Wednesday. PD Michael Hayes told the news-press the change at WINK came after months of surveys to find out what Southwest Florida radio listeners want to hear. "Thousands of listeners were asked about what they wanted in a radio station, and this is the result," said Hayes. As expected, Listener response was mixed.

Man Had Surgery To Remove 134-LB Scrotum With Assist From Howard Stern THE MOUTH, MAY 7TH, 2013 –– For over five years, Wesley Warren Jr. (shown) watched his scrotum slowly swell into a 134-pound mass that hung to his ankles, wrote ABC News. He says "I went to the ER and they treated it as though I had some kind of infection ... I went to other doctors, and no one was able to figure out anything to for me. They'd refer me to another doctor or surgeon, but because I don't have insurance or the financial means to pay for these folks on demand, the appointment would be six weeks away or three months away." Warren turned to radio host Howard Stern for help, soliciting donations. He used funds from "The Howard Stern Show" listeners to travel from Las Vegas to Irvine, Calif., where on April 8 Gelman had the 134-pound mass removed in a 13-hour surgery.
