Bob Pittman Gave Ryan Seacrest Career Advice' After He Left American Idol
THE MOUTH, JUNE 15TH, 2017 –– As the rumor mill still swirls with the possibility of media uber star Ryan Seacrest's return to American Idol's reboot, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman revealed he offered Seacrest career advice following his exit from 'Idol. "When you come off a show like that, and you'd been doing it as long as he did, your natural tendency is to quickly replace it," says Pittman. "But unlike most people, Ryan has
this huge audience who listens to him every day on the radio — it's bigger than his audience for Idol — so people aren't forgetting about him, he isn't going away. So, I said to him, 'Take your time and wait until the right thing shows up for you; don't try to take something that somebody wants you to do for them."
Ryan told THR, "I’ve figured out what I’m better at and what I’m not so good at, and I’m doing the things that I’m better at. The things that I’m not so good at would make me tired and would make me want to slow down." Of greatest concern to Seacrest, and to his iHeart bosses, was whether he could be done each day by 11 a.m., which would allow him to maintain his numerous radio gigs, including American Top 40 and daily syndicated show 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest.' Following his move to 'Live with Kelly Ripa, Heart agreed to build him a studio in the 'Live building, which should be ready later this year.
As for his much rumored return to Idol, Ryan says, "I've always loved the show. And if I could do it forever, I would do it forever." A number of reports today suggest he's nearing a deal to return, which would likely air on Sunday nights, making it possible to fly back to New York in time for his radio show and hosting job on 'Live, among umpteen other jobs. According to THR, the offer for Seacrest's return currently stands at somewhere north of $10 million, plus credit as executive produce.
Grammy Awards Moving To Online Voting
THE MOUTH, JUNE 15TH, 2017 –– In a move the Recording Academy hopes will increase members’ participation, Grammy Awards voters will soon be able to cast their ballots online for the first time reports the LA Times. Academy executives on 
Wednesday announced the elimination of paper ballots in favor of an online voting system.. “It’s been something we’ve been talking about for many years, and looking forward to the day when this has arrived,” said Bill Freimuth (R), the academy’s senior vice president of awards. “I don’t think there was ever any opposition from members or trustees, but there were a lot of technical issues,” Freimuth said of the voting-process tweak. “We wanted to be sure our auditors at Deloitte were happy with their ability to still tabulate the ballots correctly." One other benefit Freimuth cited was the prospect of 
a more accurate and representative vote tabulation. Grammy rules allow all members to cast votes in the four marquee award categories — record, album, song and new artist. Voters also are allowed to cast ballots in up to 15 other fields, but in the past a small percentage of voters has marked more than 15, resulting in those ballots, except for the top four categories, being discarded cites the paper.
The Grammys have faced criticism for favoring traditionalism over more adventurous and diverse artists. This was evident this year as Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” lost the top album prize to Adele’s “25” at this year’s ceremony. Adele herself bowed to Beyoncé in accepting her award. “You are our light,” Adele said from the Grammy stage.
The 2018 Grammy Awards will recognize recordings released between Oct. 1, 2016 and Sept. 30, 2017. The ceremony is set for Jan. 28 and will be held in New York City.

Rosenworcel To Be Renominated To FCC By Trump
THE MOUTH, JUNE 14TH, 2017 –– President Donald Trump has announced his intent to nominate Jessica Rosenworcel to fill the open Democratic slot at the Federal Communications Commission reports recode.net. WSTR Atlanta's Van Destroyed By Fire In Station Parking Lot; Manager Suspicious Of Foul Play
THE MOUTH, JUNE 14TH, 2017 –– "Someone REALLY hates me and Jenn," quipped Jeff Dauler on Instagram. Dauler is co-host of the Star 94.1's morning show Jeff & Jenn show along with Jenn Hobby. The comment came after its promotions van went up in flames Monday night in the station parking lot. Station GM Mike Fowler told The AJC's Rodney Ho, the fire department said it might have been caused by electrical and related to the engine, but added that it had been 27 hours since anybody at the station had used it. That alone makes him suspicious it might have been foul play.
Dauler said on yesterday's show he saw someone in the vicinity at 5 a.m. as he arrived for his Monday show, but then forgot about it. Unfortunately, the radio building has no cameras set on the parking lot so there was no way to know if there were any arson-happy suspects wandering around. When the fire was first noticed at 6;15 p.m. Monday by a security guard, two employees managed to a nearby second promo van out of harm’s way. By the time the fire department showed up, this fired-up van was a lost cause. Fowler did note that the Jeff and Jenn morning show decal on the wrapped van did survive (inset) but virtually nothing inside did. Dauler said people are having fun taking photos with the burned out van: ”I want to put it on a flatbed and haul it to events. It’s getting so much attention!”

Husband Of Murdered New Jersey Host Arrested, Charges Not Related To Murder
THE MOUTH, JUNE 13TH, 2017 –– The husband of murdered radio host April Kauffman (L), who was found shot to death in her 
Linwood, New Jersey home five years ago, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning reports ABC TV News Philadelphia. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said that their agents, along with the FBI and local police, executed search warrants on the home and business of Dr. James Kauffman. While executing the warrant, authorities say Kauffman displayed a handgun. A hostage negotiator was brought in and Kauffman eventually surrendered to authorities.
Kauffman is now under arrest and is being monitored by the Psychiatric Intervention Program. He will be charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow point bullets and obstruction of the administration of law. There was no word on any charges related to the murder case. The prosecutor's office said "our investigation will continue based upon the information gleaned from today's search and other leads." No one has ever been charged. On May 10, 2012, an employee of Kauffman's discovered her shot to death in the home she shared with her husband.

WIL's Kelly Stirs The Internet With Bird Stream
