The Miguel Show Raise Thousands For Family Of Man Killed While Celebrating Birth Of 3-Day Old Baby

THE MOUTH, JUNE 24TH, 2014 - It's a story that's captivated the national news. Last Tuesday, a Panama City man was killed when a stray bullet entered his home while he was celebrating the birth of his 3-day-old baby. Shortly after the news broke, The Miguel Show with Mandy and Holly on Island 106/Panama 7City, quickly launched "Go Without to Help Out: the Ayers Family." They asked for the community to go without for the month: without their daily coffee stop, without their monthly pedicures, without something they don't really NEED, and give that money to the grieving family instead. The original goal of $1,000 was reached within an hour of going live with the fundraiser. The goal was then raised to $15,000 and was surpassed in next 24 hours. At last count, they were headed towards $30,000 and it's still coming in. The fundraising page is still active at http://www.gofundme.com/agla8k. Holly tells Jockline Daily " WE ARE SO PROUD of the community for coming together for a family in need.

Larry Elder Gets Rare Star For Radio Talk Host On Hollywood's Walk of Fame

THE MOUTH, JUNE 23RD, 2014 –– Radio talk host Larry Elder says "My first thought was, 'I am happy and grateful for the appreciation. My second thought was, 'I hope they didn't confuse me with Samuel L. Jackson,'" the libertarian radio host joked in an email to The Hollywood Reporter. Out of 2,500 people who've received stars, hundreds are from the radio, but you won't see them for several of its biggest names. So far, the only other political talkers to have a stars are Bill Cunningham, the late Dan Avey and late Ray Briem, along with Bill Handel. Elder is on AM 790 KABC in Los Angeles. Lately, the number of nominees for radio has been dwindling, says Ana Martinez, the Walk of Fame's VP/media relations and producer of its ceremonies. This year, Elder was one of just four radio hosts nominated compared with hundreds for TV and film. Ellen K., from KIIS FM in Los Angeles, was recently added as a committee member and is expected to help rectify the situation.
