Derek Madden Named PD at KLOS

THE MOUTH, JULY 10TH, 2013 –– Derek Madden has been tapped as as PD of Cumulus KLOS/Los Angeles. He has been Program Director at sister station, 107.7 THE BONE (KSAN-FM) in San Francisco for the last two years. To work with that legendary brand and a top shelf morning show like Heidi & Frank is literally a dream come true. Thanks to John Dickey, Val Garris, Marko Radlovic, and Mike McVay for this tremendous opportunity. And a special thanks to the entire team at KSAN. I'm really proud of what we accomplished."

Royal Prank's Greig Suing Station

Claims They Failed To Provide A Safe Workplace Following Hoax

THE MOUTH, JULY 10TH, 2013 ––
Mel Greig, one of the Australian host involved in the internationally publicized royal prank, is now suing her radio station for failing to provide a safe workplace over the hoax last year that lead to a woman's death. According to stuff.co.nz, Greig, who hasn't returned to the air since the incident, has filed a claim against 2Day FM. While Greig is still off the air, her co-host Michael Christian resumed his duties earlier this year and was controversially named the network's "top jock" in June. A source said Greig and Austereo would try to settle the matter out of court before going that route. In February, the UK's Crown Prosecution Service decided there wasn't sufficient evidence to charge Christian and Greig with manslaughter over the death of a nurse.

Ryan Seacrest Set To Host NBC's 'Million Second Quiz'

THE MOUTH, JULY 10TH, 2013 –– As far as we know, there's only ONE Ryan Seacrest, but judging by the number of gigs he has, you have to wonder if he has few body doubles. Chalk up a new game show to the list. According to Variety, the radio host, turned media mogul is in 'advanced' negotiations with NBC to host new unscripted format “Million Second Quiz.” Pact would also see him sign on as an executive producer. While
sources close to the situation say the deal isn’t final yet, the “American Idol” host will likely see himself in a primetime berth come fall. Not surprisingly, the negotiations have been complicated by the logistics of freeing up Seacrest. “Million Second Quiz” is already creating buzz for its format, which pits contestants against each other 24/7 across TV and online. Seacrest already has a deal with NBC Universal from last April that put him on “Today” for its Olympics coverage. He also spends time with his E! “Keeping Up with the Kardashians: and Bravo (“Shahs of Sunset”).
