Shila Reunites With Chio In The Morning On Real 106.1 Philly

THE MOUTH, JULY 18TH, 2017 –– Shila Nathan debuts today as new co-host for 7“Chio in the Morning” on the new Real 106.1, Philly. Shila, who worked with Chio previously as co-host on then WRDW/Wired 96.5, reunites with the longtime Philly host.

ESPN Radio To Debut Golic & Wingo Show On Nov. 27th

Mike & Mike will conclude its nearly 18-year run on November 17

THE MOUTH, JULY 18TH, 2017 –– ESPN Radio will debut its new morning drive show, Golic & Wingo, hosted by Mike Golic and Trey Wingo, on Monday, Nov. 27. The program will air from 6 – 10 a.m. ET on ESPN Radio and will initially be simulcast on ESPN2 before moving in early January to its simulcast home on ESPNU. Mike & Mike will conclude its nearly 18-year run on November 17.

Mike Golic, Jr. will join Golic & Wingo from 6 – 7 a.m. daily. He will continue to host ESPN Radio’s First & Last from 4 – 6 a.m. every weekday before contributing to the new morning show at 6 a.m. Fans will have a sneak-peek of Golic & Wingo when the duo host Mike & Mike this week from July 18 – July 20, while Mike Greenberg guest hosts The Michael Kay Show (3 – 7 p.m.) alongside Don La Greca on ESPN New York 98.7FM from July 17 – 20.

The long-running MIke & Mike show set the bar for sports talk radio. Golic hosted the first iteration of ESPN’s morning drive show – The Bruno-Golic Morning Show – with original ESPN Radio voice Tony Bruno. He joined ESPN in 1995 as an NFL studio analyst after a nine-year career in the NFL as a defensive tackle. Greenberg’s new TV show will premiere January 1, 2018.

Lakefront Brewery Teams With Radio Milwaukee For “88Nine Amplified Pale Ale

THE MOUTH, JULY 18TH, 2017 –– Lakefront Brewery has partnered with Radio Milwaukee to brew its new “88Nine Amplified Pale Ale, ” a limited - release crisp session ale available now on draft at dozens of Milwaukee 7area taverns, restaurants and stores. The beer was created in recognition of Radio Milwaukee’s 10th anniversary this year. It also coincides with Lakefront Brewery’s 30th birthday, which it will be celebrating later this year.

NETWORKS: USRN Inks Deal With 'House Of Hair' Hosted By Rock Great Dee Snider

NIELSEN: Classic Rock Leads The Pack In Summertime Format Listening Trends

THE MOUTH, JULY 17TH, 2017 –– Nielsen’s June portable people meter (PPM) insights shows in looking at major music formats across the first five months of the year (January through May) that in May, Classic Rock listener shares surged, and comparing the most recent June results to the rest of 2017, the format has a substantial early lead in terms of summertime increase. However, the summer is far from over, with two survey months to go. And as last year proved, a late closer can upset the race: Classic Rock closed the summer of 2016 strongly, outpacing Classic Hits which previously had been the format of the summer for two straight years. In June, Urban Contemporary (a format also referred to as hip-hop) set new records for share of audience across all three of the demographics we profile. And this builds on the format’s overall performance this year, which is its best year ever in PPM measurement.

Despite this strong performance, Urban Contemporary isn’t necessarily a lock to be “format of the summer,” and it all comes down to the math. Millennials have played a key role in driving this sustained growth in Urban Contemporary listening. Among listeners aged 18-34, Urban Contemporary first cracked the 5%-share threshold (hitting a 5.0% average quarter hour [AQH] audience share) in November 2012. And if you look back to the summer of 2011, the format had a 4.7% share. This year, it is peaking at a 7.1% share and is now the third most-listened to radio format among Millennials behind Pop Contemporary Hit Radio (11.7%) and Country (8.7%). 1

WHAS Louisville Turning 95

THE MOUTH, JULY 17TH, 2017 ––It began on July 18, 1922 and over the next 95 years would evolve as one of the top powerhouse stations in radio - a .
