THE MOUTH, AUGUST 1ST, 2013 –– The death of her fellow Texas host Kidd Kraddick prompted Houston's 'First Lady of Rock 'N Roll, Dayna Steele to have her heart checked out. Known for her extensive run in the '80's on 101 KLOL-FM, Steele, who at 53 is the same age as Kraddick tells MYFOX/Houston: "I eat healthy, I exercise, I'm not overweight," but It's important to me, after what happened to Kidd, that we get this information to the public -- and show them, they're not ripping my chest open like I'm Sigourney Weaver in ‘Alien.'" Steele checked out fine, but this same kind of test might have saved Kidd Kraddick, says Dr. William Zoghbi, director of Houston Methodist's Cardiovascular Imaging Institute. Zoghbi didn't treat Kraddick, but he's heard what the autopsy revealed. "It looks like there was blockage in the arteries, the heart was enlarged," Zoghbi said. "With the test that we did, with the heart scan, you would pick that up. No question about it." WATCH VIDEO

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 1ST, 2013 –– Radio One’ Breakfast Show host, Nick Grimshaw called in sick after injuring himself in a charity football (soccer) match. He tweeted: “Gutted to miss the show today but the painkillers were making me talk all crazy crazy and slow.” Fellow DJ Scott Mills filled in for him. Absolute Radio Sold - Absolute Radio has been bought by Bauer Media in a deal worth up to £25m, ($38m) in a major act of consolidation for UK commercial broadcasting. Bauer already owns Magic and Kiss. The company is expected to make savings by combining functions. Absolute was previously known as Virgin Radio and was bought by Times of India Group for £53m ($80m) in 2008. It invested heavily in the name change and complimentary DAB stations (DAB is our version of HD). Listener figures fell heavily following the rebrand, which Absolute blamed on the diary survey methods that relies on listeners recalling the name.

Kraddick Fans Launch Petition To Keep Co-Hosts On Air

THE MOUTH, JULY 31ST, 2013 –– Following Monday's one-hour show by Kidd Kraddick's remaining show members, devoted fans quickly began petitioning to keep his co-hosts, Kellie Rasberry, Big Al, J-Si and Jenna (shown) together on the air. According to nbcdfw.com, fans of the program are using online petitions to show their support for keeping the morning show going. A petition set up on ipetitions.com has over 39,000 signatures as of this morning. Facebook groups memorializing Kraddick and showing support for the program have also popped up since the weekend. This comes in the wake of the popular host Kidd Kraddick dying from an apparent heart disease in New Orleans on Saturday during a golf tournament to benefit his Kidd's Kids charity. Meanwhile, Kiddnation.com remains active, asking for votes on Kidd's FavMorite Characters, plus a link to Monday's podcast featuring it co-host's one hour show. In addition to numerous comments from grieving fans, it also post: 'Thanks again for all the kind words and support. Contributions to Kidd’s Kids are being accepted in lieu of flowers. He wanted Kidd’s Kids to last long after he retired from radio. Donate here. Thanks again.' Of note: within just a few hours of his death, an "RIP KIDD Kraddick" Facebook page was created, and at last count had 208,000 followers, with a thousand more said to be joining every minute. In addition, billboards (like one shown) were erected in Dallas in memory of Kraddick. And while KISS/Dallas and the show's 70 plus affiliates air 'best of shows' this week, only time will tell the fate of the show's future.

Sotelo's Lawyer Calls Harassment Claims Pure Fiction; Intended As Demand For Money

THE MOUTH, JULY 31ST, 2013 –– Following last week's shocker that the highly popular Eddie 'Piolin' Sotelo and Univision had parted ways, new revelations surfaced through the Los Angeles Times that the host may have been pushed out due to harassment accusations by a male staff member. Alberto "Beto" Cortez, a writer and producer for Sotelo’s "Piolín por la Mañana" show alleged that the host was "physically, sexually and emotionally harassing" him for a three-year period ending this January. Cortez further claims that Sotelo had staff falsify letters in support of his immigration campaign for reform. He alleges when Sotelo’s campaign for one million letters for immigration reform came up short, Cortez was asked to copy other letters to make it appear as if they had received a million letters. While Univision has only confirmed their split, Sotelo’s attorney issued a statement: "A disgruntled, troubled employee has made malicious and false claims about Eddie Sotelo," Jeffrey Spitz, Sotelo’s attorney, said in a statement. "This was done as part of a demand for money.... The employee worked with Eddie for more than a decade. The employee's allegations of harassment and falsification of immigration letters are pure fiction intended to gain a financial settlement."
