Rush Stays Put At Cumulus Media For Another Three Years To Move To From WABC To WOR in January THE MOUTH, AUGUST 26TH, 2013 –– Following weeks of speculation, syndicated talker, Rush Limbaugh, finally put the lid on rumors by telling his audience last week that "on either Wednesday night or Thursday, we completed our negotiations with Cumulus Media, and there will not be any changes. I will continue to be on their radio stations for the next three years. It was really never in doubt, but I don't want to do my own version of negotiating here. The only change that's going to happen is that on January 1st we are going to leave WABC and move to WOR in New York. My syndication partner is Clear Channel Communications, and they own WOR, and so we're gonna go to our own radio station in New York. And this has been mutually agreed to," said Limbaugh. Regarding previous reports that his contract wouldn't be renewed, he said "You were reading that it was over for me. That I was bad news for broadcast stations. A month ago, you couldn't turn on the drive-by media without reading that I was finished," said Rush. Further details of his contract were not mentioned.

Get Your Screens Ready; WGN.FM's Freeform Media Is On The Way [VIDEO] THE MOUTH, AUGUST 23RD, 2013 –– On the heels of this week's blockbuster announcement of sweeping lineup changes at WGN-AM Chicago, Tribune bosses Larry Wet and Jimmy de Castro wasted little time in adding some sizzle to its new online offering, WGN .FM. First came yesterday's flash video featuring a dog licking the back of screen indicating coming changes. The video led with "Get Your Screen's Ready," a not so subtle hint that Johnny B's show won't be limited to audio. This was followed by its latest video (CLICK ON CAPTION OR LINK BELOW) with Jonathon Brandmeier running down the hall into his studio. Earlier this week, with the announcement of Brandmeier being replaced in mornings on WGN-AM by Steve Cochran (JD-8.21) and moving over its 'virtual FM,' some wondered where this all might lead for Brandmeier. This latest video campaign appears to show its plans for Johnny B and its online FM. Of course the bigger question being tossed around in Chicago lately is does The Tribune Company already have an FM deal in the works? While nothing has been confirmed, you can bet some interesting days lie ahead in the Windy City. WATCH VIDEO HERE
