Apparently, they're even being followed by aliens. Or, at least, Craig Carton. On yesterday's show, he shared the story of rolling along on Long Island with his wife and kids in the car. It was a normal situation. The kids were bouncing off the walls while Craig was locked into a Nationals baseball game (which he said he had money on) when all of a sudden he noticed something in the sky. He swears it a UFO. As it turns out it ended up being the Madden's 2013 blimp. Craig’s wife called in to say her husband walks around talking to himself. Is it the gamma rays? Tebowmania? Seacrest Group Takes A Pass On Dick Clark Productions
THE MOUTH, AUGUST 31ST, 2012 –– A group headed by Ryan Seacrest has pulled out of the bidding for purchase Dick Clark Productions, according to the Wall Street Journal. Given Seacrest's relationship with Clark, he and his private equity partners Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital were thought to be one of the more serious bidders has co-hosted and co-produced Mr. Clark's annual New Year's Eve special. Dick Clark Productions produces award shows such as "The Golden Globes and TV's "So You Think You Can Dance." RedZone, the company in charge of the sale, is reported to likely earn $300 Million or more from the sale.

He arrives from CCME sister station 103.5 Kiss Chicago. Past stints with CCME also include Q102/Philadelphia and Kiss 95./Hartford. ---------- The New York Yankees and WCBS 880 announced they have agreed to extend their current radio broadcast agreement through the 2013 season. The legendary radio station, which provides nighttime coverage to more than 30 states, will carry all regular and postseason games, as well as broadcast select spring training contests. WCBS 880 has been the team’s flagship station since 2002. In addition, John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman are expected to return to the booth. They have called games together since 2005. -------- Sirius XM Radio announced that LaDainian Tomlinson, the record-setting running back and 2006 NFL Most Valuable Player, has signed on to host weekly shows on the SiriusXM NFL Radio and SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio channels. Ryan Seacrest Returns Home To Announce Atlanta's New CHR Power 96.1
THE MOUTH, AUGUST 30TH, 2012 –– As of 7:00 PM last night, CCME's 9-6-1 Project came to a halt as it was rebranded to Power 96.1., Atlanta's New Hit Music Station. To make the announcement, the city's own, Ryan Seacrest, took stage during a Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez concert where he announced that his mom will once again be able to hear him locally on the all new CHR. Seacrest got his start at crosstown CHR Star 94.1 and later aired there in syndication, but ended later. Joining Seacrest who handles middays, will be fellow Clear Channel host, Elvis Duran, who'll move his syndicated show from mornings on CCME's local 105.7 Wild-FM. Of course, it doesn't hurt being CCME when you need a little star power to help launch a new format. As you'll see in the linked video, the likes Katy Perry, Usher, Nikki Minaj and countless others pitched in their support. What happens with the rest of the line-up is still unknown, plus the fate Project 9-6-1's morning host Kidd Chris and other staffers. There's also the question of who'll be brought in to program. Reportedly, a 'big' name is on tap. In the meantime, Power 96.1 has its work cut out for them as Q100 and Star 94 are both performing well in the ratings along with the ever powerful V-103. According to Robert Feder's Time Out Chicago, Uncle Lar and Lil' Tommy, whose appearance comes courtesy of the Illinois Broadcast Association, will discuss the revival of their Animal Stories which promotes pet safety and emergency preparedness. Tues. Sept. 5th, marks the 25th anniversary of Lujack’s retirement from WLS-AM (890). The now classic Animal Stories bit began in the early ’70s as an extension of Lujack’s morning farm reports on WLS.

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 30TH, 2012 –– His love of classic cars is well documented, but that didn't stop people gawping at Chris Evans when he drove the original car from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang through Central London. Chris had just finished his slot on BBC Radio 2's breakfast show, and drove the unusual vehicle home. It's been an expensive project for Chris, who bought the car for a reported £500,000 ($791,000) in January and then had to pay out more to make it road worthy. The car, which is seventeen feet long, has spent the last thirty years touring the country for charitable causes. It first shot to fame in 1968 when it starred in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang alongside Dick Van Dyke and Benny Hill. Chris is passionate about the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang story and has previously visited all the locations used in the classic adventure film. He has spoken out about his desire to revisit them again in Chitty itself, which is powered by a Ford three-litre V6 engine. Many models of Chitty were made for the film, but only one actually worked. Chitty is one of many vehicles owned by the fanatical redhead, who also has one of the world's finest collections of Ferraris.

The one-off, three hour show, went on the air nationally on Monday (A public holiday in England and Wales).
