[LISTEN] Hillary Clinton Makes Radio One Of Her First Stops After Returning To The Campaign Trail

7

THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2016 –– Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told listeners of this morning's Tom Joyner Morning Show she’s feeling much better then proceeded to answer some tough questions from show members. Don Lemon brought up the former Secretary of State Colin Powell, in his hacked emails, saying he has criticized you and your “minions” for trying to drag him into your email server problem. ..How do you answer him and critics who say whether it’s your emails, or disclosing your health issues or even pointing out Trump’s flypaper-like ability for attracting racially insensitive or “deplorables” as you call them, that somehow the message gets screwed up?

I have a great deal of respect for Colin Powell. And I have a lot of sympathy for anyone whose emails become public. I’m not going to start discussing someone’s private emails. I’ve already spent a lot of time talking about mine, as you know. What I think is really important about these emails is the chilling fact is that the Russians are continuing to interfere with our elections.

Lemon then asked about her health records. "I’m very touched by the concern that’s been set forth about my health. I’m really glad that I did finally follow my doctor’s orders and take some days to rest instead of just powering through, which I think is a common experience for people. So we’re going to put out more information and that will be twice as much as he’s put out and we’ll see what, if anything, he’s willing to disclose." Clinton was also asked bout Colin Kaepernick and much more - LISTEN HERE

Fred Jacobs Offers Top Takeaways From Kevin Harlan's Epic Play-By Play Of Drunk Streaker

7

THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2016 –– It's a story we're delighted to say won't go away, and now Jacobs Media Strategies' Fred Jacobs offers some top takeaways from Kevin Harlan’s Impromptu Play-By-Play Of A Drunk Football Fan that radio should take note. 'The fact we’re still talking about a late night radio broadcast of a football game four days later is something in and of itself,' says Jacobs. When something like this occurs during a sporting event, the procedure by the radio crew is to ignore it, deplore it, or simply talk about something else until the game resumes. On TV, they almost always tune away from the on-field disturbance, lament why fans can be such morons, and wait for the next snap of the ball. In fact, that’s exactly how ESPN handled this blooper moment for those watching the game on television. But Monday night, radio fans got a rare treat. Harlan – out of sheer boredom and recognition that this game was a dog – spontaneously went into an exciting, colorful play-by-play of the interruption, turning it into a moment of ironic entertainment."

Among Jacobs top takeaways: It was live. It was spontaneous. He saved a boring broadcast. He broke the rules. It was funny. It was a radio moment and it went viral (Read Jacobs' complete comments by clicking on the link below)

The live, real-time beauty of radio still makes for memorable, says Jacobs. "Surprising, and buzzworthy moments. Kudos to Kevin Harlan for the reminder. And he didn’t have to blow up a bunch of disco records or block traffic on a bridge to do it." READ COMPLETE BLOG HERE

[LISTEN] Jack Diamond Snags Interview With Hero School Bus Driver Who Saved 20 Kids

7

THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2016 –– Another day, another scoop for radio. Cumulus Mix 103.7's Jack Diamond was able to find the woman centered around the #1 trending story in the country: Renita Smith, a bus driver for Prince George's County, who saved 20 elementary children off a fully engulfed, burning school bus. Washington DC's Mix 107.3 Jack Diamond Morning Show along with Jimmy Alexander and Erica Hilary, then spoke LIVE with Renita Smith on today's show.

Smith rescued the children one by one Monday afternoon as the bus she had been driving just moments before burst into flames. Then she got back on the bus to make sure that no child had been left behind. Smith told ABC that the terrifying incident began when the dashboard on the bus started beeping and then she detected smoke. Just as she was calling for a back-up vehicle, she saw the flames. “I put the mic back down, undid my seatbelt, jumped up, got my babies and got off,” she told ABC News today. “Once we got off, neighbors kicked right into ‘Mommy mode,’ as I call it, and helped the kids get to a safe haven. When that was going on, I ran back onto the bus to make sure there was no children on the bus. … By the time I got to the last step on the bus, it just went up in smoke.” Thick, black smoke and intense flames can be seen pouring from the bus on dash-cam footage released Monday by fire officials. [LISTEN] Greg & The Morning Buzz Scoop Exclusive Tom Bergeron Interview In Post Ryan Lochte DWTS Incident; Says Olympian 'Pretty Shaken Up About It - Helped Calm Him Down'

7

THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2016 –– Greg and The Morning Buzz got a first hand account of the scary Dancing with The Stars/Ryan Lochte incident when long time friend Tom Bergeron called in to talk about it, immediately after his Good Morning America appearance. Bergeron and host Greg Kretschmar are good friends, since Tom worked at The Buzz’s flagship station, WHEB in Portsmouth NH. Tom told the Buzz that the protesters who rushed the stage didn’t seem to want any type of physical confrontation with Lochte, but the Olympian was pretty shaken up about it. Bergeron helped calm he and dancer Cheryl Burke down before returning from the commercial break. His consolation didn’t stop there, though. “Ryan’s Mom was backstage, and she was still crying, and very upset about it after the show was over, so I hugged her and tried to calm her down”, Bergeron said.

“That’s just what Tom does, he makes sure everyone else is OK. He thinks on his feet, and that’s what makes him such a great live TV host”, said Kretschmar. When Tom was asked if he ever felt threatened, and his response was “there really wasn’t enough time, because as soon as I realized what was happening, our security team had the guy on the floor. I just told them how thankful I was that they all work out so much!” The other protesters in the room, who had gotten in by waiting in line for tickets, revealed protest t shirts under their dress clothes, and left peacefully when dancer Derek Hough told them to “Get out!”. Bergeron likes to make unannounced drop-in visits whenever he is home. “He simply loves radio, and hopefully - he likes us a little bit too!” Says Kretschmar. Greg & The Morning Buzz is Greg Kretchmar, Laura, Roadkill, Kelly and Kayla. The Radio Button Network syndicates Greg & The Morning Buzz - information for Greg & The Morning Buzz can be accessed at MorningBuzzNetwork.com. LISTEN TO INTERVIEW HERE

[LISTEN] World Still Buzzing Over Westwood One's Kevin Harlan's Epic Call Of Fan On Field

7

THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2016 –– LA Ram's fans may recall little about Monday night's 28-0 trouncing by The San Francisco 49ers, but one thing for certain of those who tuned in to hear the game. That would be Kevin Harlan's priceless coverage of a fan (see arrow) who stormed the field. The Westwood One host quickly went into play-by-play mode while covering an apparently intoxicated fan as he ran onto the field during the fourth quarter. Harlan seized the opportunity, reported The L.A. Times, as he covered the, uh, action.

“He runs to the 50! He runs to the 40! The guy is drunk!” Harlan shouted with mock excitement. “But there he goes! The 20! They’re chasing him! They’re not gonna get him! Waving his arms, bare-chested — somebody stop that man! Oh, they got him! They’re coming from the left! Oh! They tackle him at the 40 yard line!” Harlan shouted. He then added somewhat tongue in cheek, “That was the most exciting thing to happen tonight.” LISTEN HERE
